Subnational Climate Action

Summary:
This report reviews and summarizes actions taken by 88 global cities to achieve medium- and long-term emission reduction targets, with a specific focus on climate change-related target setting, plan development, and policy measures. It identifies that building and transportation sectors are the main emission sources, and that advanced cities set deep emission reduction targets, cover all greenhouse gases, and translate climate goals into concrete actions through planning documents. The report provides case studies of cities with outstanding performance in buildings, transportation, energy, and waste management, offering practical references for Chinese cities pursuing long-term decarbonization.
