Report

Beyond Carbon Climate-Food GAAP

Summary:
This report examines green and low-carbon transition practices in China's agri-food system, focusing on the agricultural production stage where the greatest emission reduction potential lies. It presents five case studies from across China: climate-friendly rice cultivation in Sichuan and Yunnan, electric agricultural machinery development, ruminant feed optimization in Inner Mongolia and Yunnan, integrated crop-livestock farming in Jiangxi, and biochar application for soil carbon sequestration. The analysis draws on field research and interviews with practitioners, cooperatives, and local agencies. It identifies key drivers—policy support, technological innovation, financing, capacity building, and multi-stakeholder participation—and provides recommendations for scaling practices through strengthened policies, infrastructure, and market mechanisms.
