Achieving this transition requires renewable energy deployment and integration, the transformation of coal-fired power into a flexible supporting resource, well-functioning electricity markets, and market-based instruments such as Green Electricity Certificates (GECs) and green electricity trading. iGDP tracks renewable energy development and coal power transition in China and globally, together with the evolution of related policies and market mechanisms.
